T'was the night before homecoming, And all through Mossy Head's kitchens,
Pots were oiling, and pans a'frying, and Ovens baking to assauge our dietary itch'ins.
On Sunday morning, we gathered at church To worship as we had been beckoned.
And by Lew, the choir, and orchestra, We enjoyed a great service, I reckin.
The Pastor baptized, and the cngregation praised
While Dianne and Suzzane, and Kim At the piano and keyboards, Oh, such a heavenly ruckus they raised.
Bro. David, our Director of Missions, Delivered a message: It was bold.
He declared that we should never say cain't; Oh, yes, a message that ne'er grows old.
Behind the scene, the men and women and youth jumped in and their labor expended;
So that we could enjoy a dinner, that I'm sure my doctor never for me intended.
So, thanks Suzzane, Tina, Glenda, and Kim For displaying (with the help of Gary)
All that abundance provided by our ladies, for later when us'ns were ready!
Clean-off afterwards was spearheaded by Robin, Mary, Marsha, Harriet, and Jo D,
Mitch and Sue and our youth broke down the tables and chairs and mopped the floor with glee.
What can I say ? What to declare ?? I know.... a great big "THANK YOU"
To one and all who helped, Our gratitude is sincere and due.
Our next homecoming is set for October 19, '13; But I don't think that it will be held.
WHY ??? "Cause I look for the imminent return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus, the Christ.
If Jesus returns to take His children home, And the rapture occurs in the coming year,
Then we will all join together at the Marriage Feast of the Lamb, have no fear.
