And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My Spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the Name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. (Joe 2:28-32)
Perhaps you will be one of those millions who will seek to view the lunar eclipse tonight and Tuesday morning. It is supposed to be visible to the entire North American continent, the first time in 300 years, depending upon the cloud cover.
Listening this morning to an astronomer on FOX News, he described the color of the moon immediately prior to the eclipse, as being "blood red." He, more than likely, had no knowledge of the biblical reference to the moon turning to blood, or more accurately, "red like blood." You can check out Joel 2.21, which prophecy is quoted by Peter in his sermon located in Acts 2:20. These passages describe something that will happen in the future connected with the King of kings and Lord of lords Jesus the Christ's return. For a more exact sequence of events, you can check out Revelation 6:12 which places the event precisely in the judgements scenario... all in the future.
So, if you are able to see the red moon tonight, keep in mind that one day, there will be another phenomenon like to this one that will carry more dire consequences for all the world. Are you ready to greet that future event?
