The scriptural offices of the Lord's Churches are pastor and deacon. Deacons are those servants of the church called by God and set apart for devoted service by the church. At FBC Mossy Head, we are thankful to the Lord for His provision of wonderful deacons who care for the church well and lead us by example in faithfully serving the Lord.
"For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 3:13).

DEACONS EMERITUS
We are also privileged in our congregation to have a number of men who have served faithfully as deacons in years past but who, by reason of health or other circumstances, are no longer able to serve actively in that role. By vote of the church body, we have honored the service of these men by naming them deacons emeritus.
