At FBC Mossy Head we are committed to our role in the Great Commission our Lord Jesus gave to His church, and we ascribe to the model seen in Acts 1:8: "...ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost parts of the earth." By this, we mean that we are intentional to have an impact on the work of the kingdom here locally in Mossy Head (our Jerusalem); regionally, throughout Walton County and Florida (our Judaea); nationally (our Samaria); and internationally.
Our Missions Ministry Team spearheads our collective efforts in a number of ways. They serve to facilitate communications between our missionary partners and the church body and present recommendations for funding allocations. Additionally, they assist in coordinating opportunities for short-term mission trips and teams, identify local opportunities for mission work, and organize fundraisers, special offerings, and hands-on experiences for our members to engage in kingdom work.
We contribute to the cooperative missionary impact through the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention and Florida Baptist State Convention in supporting Christian education, disaster relief, mission preaching stations, benevolence, children's homes, recovery centers, and more. We also cooperate locally with the Walton County Baptist Association to operate initiatives that equip and undergird the ministry efforts of local churches. Additionally, we serve as a collection center for Operation Christmas Child each year.
Locally, we are always seeking ways in which we can serve the Lord and meet needs in our community. Some of the ministries we are pleased to support currently include Promises of God and Saving Grace Recovery Ministries.
If you have a desire to engage in missions service or support the Lord's work here and beyond, contact us for information on how you can get involved.
